    Responsibilities

    The Software Engineer will be part of a team producing GeoMedia Desktop (the flagship GIS product for Hexagon Geospatial) as well as various industry-specific GeoMedia add-on products and other geospatial technologies used across Hexagon Geospatial.

     

    The work involves the enhancement and support of these products as part of an agile team. It involves use of Microsoft development technologies on Windows operating systems. It involves participation in all parts of the software development life cycle from design to implementation to test (both automated and manual) to customer support assistance and software maintenance. It involves supporting a large, varied, and active worldwide customer base, working with partners in every region of the world, and working with software developers responsible for other Hexagon Geospatial product lines.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent is required
    • Experience with geospatial concepts and technologies is preferred
    • Ability to work with Microsoft development technologies including Visual Studio, C, C++, COM, .net/C#, and Visual Basic
    • Ability to work with relational database technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, PostGIS, Access, and SQLite
    • Ability to contribute to desktop GIS software including components used in web and cloud applications
    • Flexible and able to work as part of a team using agile development principles
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn rapidly
    • Ready to embrace all parts of the software cycle including design, implementation, test, support, and maintenance
